The BMW E46 remains one of the most popular platforms for road and track use worldwide. Yet the factory open differential has a well-known limitation: under load, power routes to the wheel with the least resistance — reducing traction, stability, and drive efficiency.
A Torsen limited slip differential solves this by automatically redistributing torque to the wheel with greater grip — no clutch packs, no electronics, no maintenance. The result is more confident power delivery and improved cornering balance across the full E46 range.
Our E46 Torsen LSDs come in two configurations. Standard units engage progressively — ideal for road use and fleet replacement. Preloaded units apply a constant baseline locking force for more immediate response — preferred for track builds and performance fitments. Custom specifications are available on request.

Locking rate is 45–54% for standard units and 45–80% for preloaded units.
